Nel 2001 ha lasciato il quotidiano per protesta contro l’arrivo del nuovo editore Richard Desmond, ed è passato al Mail on Sunday, per il quale ha realizzato reportage sotto copertura da Iran, Iraq e Israele. Nel 2010 ha vinto il prestigioso Orwell Prize in Political Journalism. E’ autore di cinque libri, di cui l’ultimo in ordine di tempo è «La rabbia contro Dio. Il mio viaggio dall’ateismo alla fede». In 2001, he left the newspaper in protest against the arrival of new editor Richard Desmond, and began working for the Mail on Sunday, for which he undertook investigative journalism assignments in Iran, Iraq, and Israel. In 2010, he won the prestigious Orwell Prize in Political Journalism. He is the author of five books, of which the last one in chronological order is "The anger against God. My journey from Atheism to Faith." He is the brother of Christopher Hitchens.
