L’ex leader degli N’SYNC ha conquistato sei nomination nelle principali categorie – incluse Miglior video dell’anno e Miglior video maschile – grazie all’album The 20/20 Experience, pubblicato all’inizio del 2013, dopo sette anni di silenzio. Il video Mirrors è stato nominato nelle categorie Miglior Pop Video e Miglior Editing, mentre Suit & Tie, realizzato con il Jay-Z, è in gara come Miglior collaborazione e Miglior Direction. Molto bene anche i Macklemore e Ryan Lewis con sei nomination, seguiti da Bruno Mars con quattro, Robin Thicke e Miley Cyrus con tre, e Taylor Swift con due. Una sola nomination per Justin Bieber per la coreografia di #thatPOWER, il pezzo in cui duetta con will.i.am. Nessuna candidatura per gli One Direction.
